We love seeing new ways our customers use Fractures! Joe Gibney, one of our more inventive customers, told us about an an interesting and simple DIY project he made using a Fracture. Joe was looking for a special anniversary present for his girlfriend Victoria, when he came across an abandoned cabinet door while moving out of his apartment. He noticed that the cabinet had a removable piece of clear glass in the middle of the frame, and since he had been thinking about ordering a Fracture to celebrate their anniversary, he thought that the cabinet door might make a perfect frame.

After making sure that nobody was going to claim the door, Joe grabbed it and called Fracture to see if his idea would be possible. He measured the removable glass panel from the cabinet door and ordered a Fracture with the same dimensions as the panel to ensure a snug and perfect fit. Since it wasn’t a standard size, Joe went through the customs process with our customs specialist, Sarah. She handled his order with tons of love and care, and his Fracture was soon on the way.

Once Joe received his shiny, new Fracture in the mail, he began the process of making the Fracture fit into the cabinet door frame.

The dimensions of the glass were perfect, but the foamcore backing needed to be trimmed to make the Fracture fit perfectly into the cabinet door frame. Joe used an X-ACTO blade to trim the backing and then glued the Fracture into place in the cabinet door frame using a tube of multi-purpose cement.

After a few hours of drying, the final product was ready to be presented to his girlfriend, Victoria. She was in the dark about the whole process and was very surprised by Joe’s thoughtful, personal, and unique gift.
