Editing your photos on your phone should be quick and easy. No need for slow apps or fancy interfaces. The ideal app would have a clean and simple interface while including user-friendly features and tools. Luckily, this app exists, and it’s called Snapseed.

What is Snapseed, exactly?

Snapseed is a photo-editing app that allows you to use filters and various tools to enhance your photos. This app has many unique options for editing and keeps a clean layout. This way, nothing is ever overcrowded or jumbled while editing. Snapseed also allows you to easily change the level of features, such as brightness, by sliding your finger directly on the picture. Say goodbye to the pesky little sliders that never get it quite right.

Should I use this app?

You should download Snapseed if you want to use a more advanced app than Instagram to edit your photos. Snapseed would be helpful if you are looking for an easy-to-use editing app that is not cluttered. With its many special features, which are highly customizable, Snapseed is sure to help you get your photo looking just right.

What does it do exactly?

First, open the app, and you will be prompted to choose a photo to edit. Once you have chosen a photo, you’ll have the option to test a variety of pre-made filters. These filters will show up at the bottom of the screen. The filters all have names, which help describe exactly what the filter is made to do, such as “accentuate.”

After choosing a filter, continue to the advanced options by clicking the checkmark in the bottom righthand corner of the screen. Keep in mind, you do not have to choose a filter, but either way, you must click the checkmark to move on. You will see three options at the bottom of the screen now: Looks, Tools, and Export.

The “Looks” section is where you can add or change your filter. The Tools section is full of the unique and specific editing tools you can use. To access the basics, like saturation and contrast, click on “Tools” then click Tune Image. Next, click the second button from the left that looks like a bunch of sliders. In order to change any of the settings here, click on a setting from the menu. Then, slide your finger to the right or left anywhere on the screen. You will notice the settings disappear, and the photo will change based on the setting. You can also select the auto-adjust button (the magic wand third from the left) to automatically adjust that setting. To save your changes, click the checkmark on the bottom right.

Editing features range from basic to advanced.

I recommend playing around with the settings a bit on a sample photo to see how they all work.

Once you have finished editing your photo, you can export it (in the “Export” section). Save it to your camera roll or share it instantly.

What are the pros?

This app is very simple and to-the-point. It is great for beginners in photo editing because it is very easy to use. Snapseed has 29 tools and filters, which makes it perfect for more advanced photo editors as well. There is also no delay or lag when changing the settings and while using the tools in the app.

Are there any cons?

There are a few unconventional features. This could become overwhelming for beginning photo editors. Also, the interface may seem boring or plain to some due to its simplicity.

How much does the app cost?

This app is FREE. Yes, you saw that right. Endless editing capabilities at no cost.

Where is the app available?

You can download Snapseed on your iPhone or Android.
