Less than half of businesses, about **45%**, celebrate their fifth birthday. So, we’re over the moon to announce that we’re hitting **5 years old this November**! Since 2009, we’ve sent out **55,000 orders** to **40,000 happy customers** around the globe!
It is in the spirit of birthday reflection (and because it is #ThrowbackThursday) that we’re filling this post with images from Fracture times gone by. – Drew
Our CEO Abhi Lokesh shared his thoughts on Fracture turning 5.
Wow, it’s hard to believe it’s been 5 years since Alex and I first opened our digital doors for business.
2014 has been especially big for us. When we first started in 2009, we had no idea the size of the challenge we were biting off, and we spent the next 4 years learning on the fly; experimenting, failing, picking ourselves back up, rinsing and repeating. Every step was new, every achievement was a first. We were content to just keep fighting the good fight.
Although we welcomed more customers and Fracture fans each year, after 4 years of baby steps we knew that we needed more – we had a big, hairy ambition: to redefine the way the world prints and displays its favorite images, and our progress needed to start matching our ambition.
It’s safe to say that this year has been that year for us. Sales have nearly tripled, we’ve become more efficient than ever, and our team has rallied around our mission of graduating from a wet behind the ears, “deer-in-the-headlights” startup to a focused and growing young company.
Most importantly, our customer’s love and appreciation for Fracture continues to grow, and we’re welcoming more folks to Fracture each day at a historic pace. Our brand is starting to mean something, to stand for something powerful- a new way of printing your cherished memories. In a day and age where everything seems to vanish instantly before your eyes, we’re becoming the way you hold onto something special.
None of this could have been possible without our team, which continues to impress us with their resiliency and their passion. From customer service to the fulfillment team, we’ve just got a great bunch of people. It’s fun to come to work every day – isn’t that all we can ask for?
So on the eve of our 5th birthday, it’s been fun looking back at where we’ve come from. Not just because it’s always good to take a trip down memory lane, but because this year has proven that we’re just scratching the surface of our potential, and that makes us more excited than ever before.
